Roofers in Conroe, TX: Local Roofing Companies Listed
If you're looking for roofers in Conroe, TX, this is every Conroe roofing company currently listed in the HoustonProsHQ directory: 56 of them as of this month. Some have detailed listings, often because neighbors recommended them in a Conroe community thread or because they publish what they do. Others are a name and a phone number so far.
This isn't a ranking. There's no vote or review score behind the order, so nothing here says "best." Companies are listed alphabetically within each section. What the list does give you is a starting set of local names, what each one says it does, and the questions worth asking before anyone climbs on your roof.
A note before you call: roofing work splits into a few different jobs. Repairs and leaks, full replacements, storm and insurance work, and specialty roofs like metal. Most companies below do the first three. A few specialize, and those are called out.
Roofers in Conroe, TX with details on file
These listings say more than "roofing contractor serving Conroe." Each description comes from the business's own listing details or website, or from what neighbors said about it in a local recommendation thread. Nothing here is our judgment of their work.

What Texas does and doesn't license for roofers
Texas has no state license for roofing contractors. Plumbing, electrical and HVAC work are licensed by the state; roofing is not. That means "licensed roofer" on a truck or a card doesn't point to a state credential, and the checks that matter are different. Our guide on how to check whether a Houston contractor is licensed covers them in detail.
The short version for a Conroe roof:
- Insurance you've confirmed yourself. Ask for the certificate, then call the agent on it.
- A written, itemized scope. Tear-off, decking, underlayment, flashing, vents, and disposal.
- A payment schedule tied to the work, not a large deposit before anything happens.
Some roofers carry voluntary credentials. The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT), for example, runs a voluntary certification program for roofing professionals who meet its requirements and pass industry exams. One company above lists it. It's a useful signal, not a requirement.
Permits in Conroe
We couldn't find a roofing-specific permit rule published on the City of Conroe's website, so we won't state one here. Two things we can say. First, a Conroe mailing address doesn't always mean a house is inside city limits, and city rules only apply inside them. Second, if you are inside the city, the City of Conroe Building Inspections and Permits Department handles permits through its online portal and answers questions at 936-522-3610. Ask your roofer whether a permit is needed for your job and who will pull it, and get the answer in writing.
After hurricane season: what a fall roof check should cover
Atlantic hurricane season runs through November 30, and by late October most Conroe roofs have been through a summer of heat, storms and wind. A fall check is a good idea even if nothing is leaking. Ask whoever comes out to look at:
- Missing, lifted or creased shingles, especially on the edges and ridges where wind gets under them.
- Flashing around chimneys, vents and walls, where most leaks actually start.
- Pipe boots and vent collars, which crack in the sun.
- Gutters and downspouts. Pine needles and oak leaves pile up fast in Montgomery County yards, and clogged gutters push water back under the roof edge. A gutter company can clean and check them before winter rains.
- The attic. Water stains on the decking or insulation tell you more than anything visible from the ground.
If the inspection turns up storm damage you think is covered, read our guide on roof hail damage and Houston insurance claims before you sign anything. A fuller first-week checklist after a storm is in Roof Inspection After a Storm in Houston.
How to compare quotes from Conroe roofers
Get at least three quotes. With two, you can't tell which one is the outlier.
- Make sure they're quoting the same job. One quote may include new decking and drip edge while another assumes the old decking is fine. Ask each roofer to itemize materials and scope.
- Ask about the underlayment and ventilation, not just the shingle brand.
- Ask who does the work. Employees or a subcontracted crew. Either can be fine, but you want to know who to call later.
- Get the workmanship warranty in writing. The shingle manufacturer covers the material. The roofer covers the installation, and that's what fails first.
- Be wary of door-knockers after a storm. Out-of-area crews, big deposits and offers to "cover your deductible" are the warning signs.
